Walnut shell is a soft abrasive, often used for deflashing, deburring, and finishing operations, as well as filler and extender applications. 

Qualities of Walnut Shell:

  • Soft, will not cause pitting (excellent for jet engine parts, turbines, pistons, etc.)
  • Excellent for de-flashing and de-burring
  • Excellent for wheel blasting, air blasting, and tumbling
  • No risk of Silicosis
  • Mohs Hardness:  3
  • Long Lasting
  • Oil and Water Resistant
  • Biodegradeable
  • Re-Useable
  • Allows for preservation of base/primer, while removing top layers of paint (excellent for air craft carriers, submarines, boats.)
  • Angular and multi-faceted
  • Specific Gravity:  1.2-1.4

500 lb minimum order (10, 50lb bags.) with multiple shipping points. We will pick the shipping point closest to your end destination.  Please email us for a custom freight quotation.  We will need to know your ship-to address, and whether or not you have a loading dock on your end to receive the media.

  • Minimum Order:  10 bags.
