for rock tumbling just a hobbyist
Advantages: nice to be able to pick all grit sizes
Disadvantages: had to wait for it to be packaged before shipped

for sidewalk sparkle
Advantages: easy to throw on top when concrete was wet. Guessed and bought a bit more than I needed so am using rest to fill flower vases
Disadvantages: 50 lbs is a bit heavy for me so I scooped it out into a used butter container
